North Carolina law requires a judicial candidate to report the name, address, job title or profession and name of employer of each contributor. If the method of payment is not from the individual personal checking account of the contributor, a statement is required from the contributor asserting that the contribution originates from the personal funds of the contributor. Individuals and registered political committees may make contributions. By law, contributions from corporations, business entities, labor unions, professional associations and insurance companies are prohibited.
